POSITION TYPE: Full-time (Monday – Friday/8:00 am to 5:00 pm)

REPORTS TO: Controller/EVP of Finance

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: To provide the Controller/EVP of Finance with assistance on all financial-related tasks. Mainly responsible for keeping the accounting and financial processes up to standard and ensuring accurate financial reporting and control.

• Manage day-to-day operations of Accounting Department
• Develop annual goals and objectives for self and staff with Controller
• Oversee preparation of annual 1099’s and Year End Reports
• Direct Annual Audit and preparation of Financial Statement and Tax Returns
• Direct and create a summary for all LLCs operating agreements
• Create calendar/tickler of critical monthly, weekly, and daily review dates
• Continually monitor systems and software and maximize use of for efficiency
• Supervise and Train Accounting Staff. Hold monthly department meetings
• Review and sign Project/Development Entity Checks
• Review corporate checks and sign as necessary
• Administrate all existing loans. Review Loan Requests and Budgets – analyze loan shortfall with direction for solution
• Maintain efficiency of cash flow from closings to loan pay down
• Manage all cash funding’s and disbursements. Work with Controller to anticipate, determine and resolve any project related funding shortfalls. Calculate and prepare Partner equity requests, if necessary
• Monitor Escrow Closing Receivables and recording of Escrow Closing Statements
• Monitor loan payoffs and bank demands
• Responsible for review and approval of Monthly Project Budget changes
• Assist Controller with oversight of General Liability/Wrap Insurance cost allocation to projects for proper collection and proration
• Assist Controller with Analyses as Necessary
• Monitor Close-Out Audit of development projects by Project Accountants and assist as necessary. Confirm close-out procedures completed and that remaining reserves are sufficient. Perform Project Closeout Meetings at the end of each project.
• Emphasize team role of accounting department with respect to sub-contractors, Banks, and other departments (“Buyer Friendly”)
• Check and balance system for bank reconciliation’s and deposits including oversight for preparation and review of all bank account reconciliations
• Perform other duties as assigned

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field, REQUIRED
 Certified Public Accountant, strongly preferred
 Minimum of 5-7 years of CPA experience, preferred
 Supervisor experience preferred
 Minimum 3-5 years of working with a homebuilder is REQUIRED
 Valid Class C Driver’s License and a Clean DMV Record, required
 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
 Solid knowledge of accounting principles and accounting/finance processes
 Detail oriented and good communication skills

This position requires supervision of the accounting department which consists of project accountants, accounting assistants and clerks.
